Why use the JIRA software?
First, openness
1. Excellent transparency is provided through JIRA. All team members are aware of who is responsible for what because each task is assigned to a specific person.
2. adaptability
Throughout product development, it is normal for things to change since they were not accounted for during the sprint planning session. Each team member using JIRA can start a new ticket if they deem it necessary. When a ticket is assigned to an individual, that individual will immediately receive an email notification, ensuring that no team member will miss any assignments.
3. User Experience
The drag-and-drop functionality that JIRA offers was also a factor in our decision to use it. Each ticket can be dragged and dropped into any process step by a team member.
4. Commenting
Commenting is another advantageous function that JIRA offers; it facilitates easy collaboration between team members. People on the same team may be in various time zones, making it impossible for them to operate productively, particularly in the context of a multinational organisation.
5. Cost management
JIRA is also beneficial for project managers with strict deadlines. Team members can record the story point for each work, it provides a method for estimating the project budget, and a burndown chart can be generated to anticipate if the project will reach the deadline, allowing key stakeholders to make the appropriate decision and alter the project scope.
6. Categorisation
JIRA is also capable of categorising each ticket into epics; this allows project managers to divide all tickets into components and then track them down, as opposed to tracking down a large number of little tickets.
7. Customized Workflow
Workflow in the JIRA board is easy modifiable; it is applicable to industries other than IT so long as the project has a defined procedure. A typical workflow in Strut Digital might be To Do > Sprint > QA > Completed. QA is typically performed by someone outside the development team.
8. Integrations
There are numerous plugins and connectors that may be utilised with JIRA. For example, we use Harvest in conjunction with JIRA to record timesheets and charge clients.
JIRA is also very compatible with other Atlassian products, such as Confluence for documentation and BitBucket for hosting code repositories.
JIRA provides excellent functionality and tools for managing projects. With a few easy clicks, it’s possible to export transparent project status and expense management. It is extremely adaptable to any type of project because to its streamlined UI/UX, highly configurable workflow, and robust integration capabilities.
